“This is what the Lord says—
your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb:
I am the Lord,
the Maker of all things,
who stretches out the heavens,
who spreads out the earth by myself…”
Isaiah 44:24
One of the most fascinating characteristics/names of God is that of Creator.
Being a creating God is an integral part of who He is. He creates every one of us. David said, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well (Psalm 139:13 &14.” This in itself is the ultimate confidence booster. Being molded by the Creator means we are exactly who God wants us to be. This means we can be confident in our own shells and stop comparing ourselves to others. We need to take care of our bodies, but our curly hair, the color of our skin, etc., were designed by God. Yes, I know genetics had something to do with it, but God created the genetics. However, knowing God formed us doesn’t mean that we can stop trying to be like Christ, throw up our hands and say, I’m exactly how God wanted me, so take it or leave it. Unfortunately, Satan lives in this world and he can do a number on our hearts and souls. This is why we need to remember that God created us for His glory. We need to be thankful to Him for His plan of salvation so that we can live for all eternity in Heaven, an eternal home He is creating for all believers.
Speaking of Heaven, God created the heavens and probably still is creating them. I read at an exhibit about the Hubble Telescope that every time scientists aim Hubble out into deep space, it photographs another unknown galaxy. God created those galaxies and I believe He is still creating them. Since being the Creator is a part of who He is, why would He stop creating? Hubble Telescope aside, just look up at the night sky and try to count all the stars you can see on a clear night. Where I live, we don’t have many lights and the night sky is amazing! To think that God has created all the heavenly objects in the sky is way beyond our comprehension. To be honest, it is also way beyond the most learned astrophysicist to date. The human race just doesn’t know everything that is out in space.
In fact, closer to home, we are still discovering plants and animals in our own oceans here on earth. Oceanographers’ understanding of the communities of life living within and around the Beebe Vent Field, the deepest in the world, are still limited. In fact, according to Amon, 2019, while studying creatures in the deep ocean, “bioluminescence may be the most common form of communication on the planet (para. 3).” How cool is that? We just have an inkling of all God created.
Even though God still creates heavenly objects, animals, plants and humans, the most amazing thing He creates is good out of bad for His believers. When we mess up, or just when life isn’t fair and we are handed a bad situation, God can take that situation and turn it around for good. Romans 8:28 says, “…God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” To create good from bad is phenomenal. I’m so glad I serve a God whose creating is such an integral part of who He is.
