Blessed Grandparents

I always wanted to be a grandma. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my son, and still do, but I always thought being a grandma would be much more fun. As a single parent, I had to be both mom and dad which meant I was the only disciplinarian in the household. I prayed for God’s wisdom and help while raising him. Believe me, I give God all the glory for my son maturing into a Christian professional and a loving father and husband, despite my mistakes. However, now I get to enjoy being the grandma, or Gabi as my granddaughter calls me. I was reflecting on the enjoyment of watching my grandchildren open their presents this past Christmas and just generally watching them develop. Then I read this post this morning and it basically put into words what I was feeling. Therefore, I thought I would repost it this week. How blessed grandparents we are, that we have gotten to this stage of our lives. Even though our bodies may have aches and pains, these are so overshadowed by the enjoyment we receive from our grandchildren.
